Biography

Sameer V. Patel is a Co-Founder of Faden Patel Christensen & Dalton PLLC and a nationally recognized legal advisor to tax credit investors, lenders, community development entities and other financial institutions deploying capital in the community development and social impact sectors.

With more than two decades of experience, Sameer structures, negotiates and executes sophisticated financings involving New Markets Tax Credits, Historic Tax Credits, Low-Income Housing Tax Credits, renewable energy tax credits and other federal and state incentive programs.

Clients rely on Sameer for a practical, business-oriented approach to complex structures. He focuses attention on the issues that actually affect economics, execution and risk, and works closely with investors, lenders, developers, CDEs and project sponsors throughout the life of a transaction.

Before co-founding FPCD, Sameer led Manatt’s Chicago office and held a leadership role within its community development and tax credit platform.

“Sameer approaches a tax credit transaction as both a legal structure and a business deal—and expects the documents to serve both.”
